Fabulous post Jo and that book leaning nonchalantly against the verandah is perfect (especially for those of us who live here and know the background).
Enjoy your trip. I canโt believe you have moved from one of the coldest areas to one of the warmest! The difference in average temperatures must be huge ๐
It was many many years ago, but we went from high 30s in Merriwa in the Hunter Valley to a cold snap in Bombala 2 weeks before Christmas. As I said, a long time ago.
How lovely to revisit old stomping grounds and to have the added benefit of touching base with Deb. Loved the book leaning nonchalantly to gaze out over the scenery - very Aussie!
But look at those blue skies! We've had weeks of grey in southern Tassie, so to see sun (we have it today!) is heaven.
I did laugh about Liawenee. On my first trip there, I stripped off socks and boots and sank my feet into the crisp mountain waters. It was fabulous! And freezing. Since then, I've begun winter swimming on the coast (9-10 water temp. Feels like 0 or less. ) so the cold is okay. All that said - this year is such a mild winter.

Oh I just LOVE that promotional picture! How fun to get back to your roots and old stomping grounds.

It's been a lovely break.
